Surfboard Factory
The Bic is a company based in Clichy, France, founded in 1945 by Baron Marcel Bich of Italian origin, a leading manufacturer of office supplies such as the classic ballpoint pen. (The name derives Bic inter alia by the abbreviation of his surname). After the great success and success in this field has begun to produce other products such as disposable lighters, razors and shaving, since 1979, including surfboards, windsurfing, kite surfing and kayaking. The BIC was founded in France by Marcel Bich with Edouard Buffard in 1945. The two bought a surfboard factory and started a company for the production of pencils and pens. In December 1950, Marcel Bich introduced his own ballpoint pen and called BIC. The "h" was dropped in the final to avoid a potentially inappropriate English pronunciation (Bich -> ing. Bitch, bitch. Epithet offensive equivalent to whore). Bich obtained patent rights from the Hungarian-Argentine László József Bíró, as often happens in these cases, died in poverty, improving production methods. A feather in the economic sphere but at the same time reliable, was introduced to the world in Buenos Aires, where they met with the pen. In September 2005, BIC announced that it had sold its 100 billionth disposable pen, making it the most sold in the world. Ten years after the release of BIC pens in Europe, the same were filed in the United States. The Americans, however, were cautious at the beginning of the BIC pens. There were many other pens on the market at the time and people were hesitant to change. The diffusion of BIC began to increase with the advertising campaign on television, who played the slogan "Writes First Time, Every Time" (Each time, he writes for the first time). The BIC pens sold for 29 cents each, and within a year, fell only 10 cents. At the moment the pen is the best selling Cristal. As for the lighters, the BIC has the highest sales for disposable ones.
